Chris Ozongwu is from Ngwo in Udi Local Government of Enugu State. He has been in the UK since 1975. He read HND Business Studies at Farnborough College Hampshire. He then proceeded to study law culminating in the award of BA (Hons) Law at Ealing College of Higher Education (Now South Thames University London). He then proceeded to do his Bar at the Lagos Law School and was called to the Bar in 1982. He later attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where he obtained his LLM Law.
He practiced Law both in UK as a solicitor specializing in various aspects of Law including Immigration and in Nigeria as a Barrister. In both countries he ran Legal Practice Firms . In 2011/12, he took sabbaticals to complete an MBA in Innovative Management of the Coventry University with emphasis in Small and Medium Enterprises (smes).
Chris combined both professions by running Consultancies in Law and Business and built up clients in Africa, USA, West Indies, Hong Kong and China. He has now retired formally but continues to engage on part time basis his consultancy work , Property Development and Management.
On the political front, he had a brief foray in 2003 when under the then ANPP he was the Deputy Governorship candidate in that year’s election. He has since retired from partisan politics but supports good and credible candidates.
He holds a Chieftaincy Title from his Okwojo Ngwo Community thus popularly addressed as ENYANWU NAWALU OHA and UWA BU NKE JESUS.
He is blessed with children and grandchildren.
